ARCH 3250: Designing within the Conceptual Frame

Designing within the Conceptual Frame

Fall Semester 2013

Mark Tambornino

Course Description:
In the conceptual realm, physical objects are not what we recognize them to be but rather exist primarily as information structures: columns are points, walls are planes/layers and a room is a volume/container of space. Through the problem of designing within six parallel planes this workshop studio will work to understand the nature of conceptual entities, their dynamics when placed in an aggregate system and the architectural qualities they possess.
