Workshops: Platforms of Learning


For over 20 years Jim Roe has been developing and producing immersive experiences for museums and outdoor learning institutions. His expertise lies in connecting audiences with history, science, and the arts using techniques from theater, video media, exhibitions and landscape design. 

He has developed or directed more than 30 major museum projects ranging from an object theater for Star Wars: Where Imagination Meets Reality, Museum of Science, Boston to The Big Back Yard, an outdoor attraction at the Science Museum of Minnesota that uses miniature golf and water interactives to engage audiences in concepts of river geology.


He holds a Master of Arts in American Studies with concentrations in urban and architectural history.
