Workshops: Box Problem

Vice President, Cermak-Rhoades Architects

Todd has more than 23 years of experience programming and designing a range of building types; however, the emphasis of Todd's work is on housing issues.

While a former a researcher at the Design Center for American Urban Landscape, he was project coordinator for "Making Housing Home," a design guide for planning quality housing, and was a project leader for the Design Center's work on the Hollman Settlement in North Minneapolis, dealing with complex issues related to housing and neighborhood connections across a 100 acre site. In addition to helping the Greater Minnesota Housing Fund with the Building Better Neighborhoods program Todd has worked on numerous housing related projects.

His work experience includes several affordable and market rate townhome developments, supportive housing communities and historic renovations.

Having spent a semester abroad in Denmark, Todd has a proclivity for social housing and modern design. His experience there has been a constant source of inspiration for the personal and professional work he does today. Not only is he a talented architect, he is a skilled furniture maker, working in his own woodshop at home. Additionally, as a result of his passion for education and seeing new places in the world, Todd led a group of students to China for a semester in 1991. He and Terri later returned to China on an exciting journey to adopt their daughter Amalya.
